Within the Singita Grumeti concession in the western Serengeti, alongside the Grumeti River, the andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge is not a Singita property but a separate andBeyond camp on the Grumeti river corridor, occupying a position in the central corridor of the wildebeest migration’s western crossing points where the river’s crocodile population and the density of wildlife movement through the riverine vegetation create one of the most consistently productive game-viewing landscapes in Tanzania. The six tented suites are positioned above the river bank with views along the Grumeti’s forested corridor, and the camp’s intimate scale gives the guiding team a flexibility in daily programme planning that larger camps cannot maintain. The private concession area around the camp provides traversal access not available to public vehicles.

River drives along the Grumeti to observe the hippo pools and the crocodile aggregations that make the western Serengeti’s river crossings the most dramatically predatory of the entire migration, walking safaris in the riverine forest, and night drives in the private concession provide the programme range alongside the standard morning and evening game drives. The crossing season from June through August, when the migration herds reach the Grumeti and attempt to cross its crocodile-laden waters in enormous numbers, represents the peak of the camp’s wildlife intensity, with sightings of predation events at river crossings among the most viscerally dramatic in all of East African wildlife tourism. The boma dinner above the river provides the evening social setting.
