On the northeast coast of Mauritius at Belle Mare, Constance Prince Maurice occupies a private peninsula of tropical forest and white-sand beach, with an elevated position above the lagoon that has long made it one of the island’s most architecturally distinctive properties. The resort’s 89 suites and villas are distributed across the peninsula and into the lagoon on stilts, with over-water suites offering direct access to the clear shallow water above the sand and private suites on the peninsula set within mature gardens. The library, stocked with several thousand volumes and positioned above the lagoon, has become one of the resort’s most quietly celebrated spaces.

Dining at Constance Prince Maurice occupies a particular place in the Mauritian fine-dining landscape, with the Floating Restaurant suspended on pontoons above the lagoon serving contemporary French and Mauritian cuisine, and the Archipel bar and grill offering more informal meals at the water’s edge. Days can include snorkelling and glass-bottom kayaking in the lagoon, island hopping to the sandbanks of Ile aux Aigrettes, and excursions to the plantation estates and tea gardens of the island’s interior. The spa draws on tropical botanicals and traditional Mauritian wellness approaches.

Constance Prince Maurice’s conservation commitments are rooted in its relationship with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, supporting habitat restoration and endemic species recovery on the island. The resort’s garden and landscaping programme focuses on endemic Mauritian vegetation, and the offshore reef monitoring work carried out in partnership with local marine biologists gives the guest experience a scientific grounding in the ecology of the northeast lagoon.
