San Camp

On the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans in northeastern Botswana, San Camp is a mobile camp of extreme minimalism and visual purity — seven Bedouin-style tents of white canvas positioned on the edge of the pan’s calcite expanse, with Persian rugs, antique furniture, and the particular quality of light that the pan’s white reflective surface creates at all hours of the day constituting the entire material reality of the guest experience.
