Singita Faru Faru Lodge

Along the Grumeti River on Singita’s private concession in the western Serengeti, Singita Faru Faru Lodge is a more intimate camp than Sasakwa Lodge on the hill above, designed in a contemporary safari aesthetic of canvas, wood, and river stone that keeps the architecture close to the ground and the horizon uninterrupted. The nine suites are arranged along the river bank with deck views over the seasonal water source that draws wildlife throughout the year and creates some of the most concentrated game activity in this section of the Grumeti concession. The camp’s position in the river corridor gives it particular access to the elephant and buffalo herds that use the Grumeti as a dry-season water source and to the predator activity along its banks.

Game drives in the private concession cover the full range of western Serengeti habitats from riverine forest and termite mound plains to rocky koppies and open savannah, with the resident ranger and tracker team building each drive around real-time sightings intelligence shared across the concession’s camps. Walking safaris, river drives, and specialist photographic game drives are among the formats available to guests with specific wildlife interests. The restaurant and outdoor dining programme respond to the seasonal produce available from the camp’s kitchen garden and from trusted Tanzanian suppliers.

Singita Faru Faru’s design was guided by an environmental philosophy that minimises permanent structures within the river corridor and uses building materials and methods that allow the camp to be removed from the landscape with minimal disruption if required by conservation needs.
