Singita Sabora Tented Camp

On a vast plain in Singita’s Grumeti concession in the western Serengeti, Singita Sabora Tented Camp evokes the aesthetic of a 1920s safari with white canvas tents, Persian rugs, campaign furniture, and antique maps of East Africa, creating an atmosphere of early twentieth-century expeditionary romance without sentimentality or reproduction. The nine tented suites are large enough to accommodate separate dressing and sleeping areas, and each tent opens directly onto the plains through wide canvas flaps that bring the smells and sounds of the Serengeti into the living space as completely as the architecture allows. The fireplace in the main mess tent and the outdoor dining platform under the acacia tree establish the camp’s social rhythm across the day and evening.

The Grumeti concession’s exclusive game-drive access provides Sabora’s guests with the same quality of wildlife experience available at the other Singita camps — exceptional predator sightings, enormous herds of plains game, and the extraordinary river crossing spectacle of the migration season — but the camp’s aesthetic gives the experience a particular texture of historical immersion. Ranger and tracker teams at Sabora have the same training and seniority as those at the lodge properties, and the smaller guest count allows for more flexible and responsive daily programming.
