Within Kruger National Park on the same N’wanetsi concession as Lebombo Lodge, Singita Sweni Lodge is the smaller, more intimate property on the river — six suites positioned at water level in a stand of fever trees above the N’wanetsi’s deep pools, with a design that emphasises the intimacy of the river setting over the architectural drama of Lebombo’s cantilevered position above the gorge. The fever tree grove that shades the lodge is one of the most photographically beautiful camp settings in the Kruger system, and the nocturnal sounds of the N’wanetsi’s hippo population in the pool directly below the suites provide a nighttime acoustic experience specific to river-edge accommodation in an African national park. The lodge’s small size gives the guiding team a flexibility in daily programming that larger properties cannot match.

Game drives at Sweni share the N’wanetsi concession with Lebombo and access the same diverse northeastern Kruger landscape, but the reduced guest count at Sweni allows for a more personalised and responsive programme. The bush meals and outdoor dining options at Sweni are among the most atmospherically considered in the Singita portfolio, with the fever tree grove providing shade for midday lunches that contrast the open-air game drive experience. Walking safaris, birding in the fever tree forest and N’wanetsi floodplain, and nocturnal game drives focusing on leopard, hyena, and the wide variety of nocturnal predators that use the river corridor are among the programme options available from this location.

Singita Sweni’s contribution to the Singita Lowveld Trust’s N’wanetsi concession work includes the community and conservation programmes shared across both Sweni and Lebombo, with the combined revenue of the two lodges funding the anti-poaching and ranger training operations that maintain the northeastern Kruger’s wildlife integrity in a section of the park that shares a long international boundary with Mozambique.
